Allen Parton Honoured by Lord Mayor of Portsmouth

Portsmouth have recognised the work and passion of Naval Veteran Allen Parton, who founded Hounds for Heroes and who has tirelessly promoted and fund raised for the charity for over five years.

Allen said “ I am am always reminded to look over my shoulder by my wife Sandra and remember who has made Hounds for Heroes the charity it is today, the staff, volunteers, puppy parents and all those who have supported us in our early years of development. This award, though with my name on it, really is in recognition of everyone's effort...turning my pigs ear of a vision into a silk purse of reality.” he added “ Portsmouth has been my home port during my time in the Royal Navy and we spent all our childhood holidays here too, so now to be recognised by a city that I call and think of as home.... this award is such an honour and one that holds great poignancy for me. Thank you all for this honour”
