Banbridge High School Goes barking mad!!

Banbridge High School Goes barking mad!!

As part of Volunteering through History Sixth Form History pupils from Banbridge High School in N Ireland organised the visit by Allen and his gang to both the Banbridge High School and local primary schools; Edenderry Primary School and The Abercorn Primary School.

The aim was to raise awareness of the charity and to thank the pupils for past and future fund raising.

Allen was joined in his visit this year by members of the Search and Rescue Dogs NI; both two legged and four. Neill Powell is the founder of this organisation whose members are all volunteers and depend totally on fund raising.

The sixth form pupils went on to encourage form classes to fund raise and bag packed in Tesco Banbridge at Christmas. Staff and pupils donated to the fundraising rather than send Christmas cards. All monies will be divided between the two charities.

A football tournament is scheduled for the Spring and all primary schools in the town will be asked to participate and hopefully provide additional financial support.

The Sixth Form pupils have also contacted The Police Ambulance and Fire Brigade Services of N. Ireland, along with AA Veterans to raise awareness of Hounds For Heroes and let them know that their fundraising will be used to provide an assistance dog for someone in N Ireland.
