Meet the team

Vice-Chairman, and Founder, Allen Parton

In 1991, Allen Parton was a Chief Petty Officer serving in the Royal Navy in the Gulf. He had a very promising military career ahead of him and a wife and two children at home in Portsmouth. Then a tragic operational incident which changed his life completely.

Len Flint - Trustee

Len Flint brings a huge wealth of experience and expertise to the charity. Before retiring to Hampshire, he worked for 42 years in the IT industry in engineering, sales and management. Len is also  a very keen Golfer and devoted pet owner

Sarah Armstrong - Trustee

Sarah spent her early career as a veterinary surgeon – initially in a Gloucestershire mixed practice then moving into the pet care industry in sales and business development roles.  She developed an interest in the ‘people’ side of business and after a stint in operational management moved into HR where she has spent the last 20 years working with a wide variety of organisations providing operational, strategic and change management leadership and support. 

Julian Forth - Trustee

Julian has worked in the Defence Sector since graduating and so has a close affinity to the Armed Services. Now retired, he brings over 40 years' experience of engineering, managing and marketing to the Charity. 


Trustee Amanda Brown

Amanda was admitted as a solicitor by the Law Society of England and Wales in 1996.  She retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2017, after 17 years service in Army Legal Services.  She now lives near Bath and, as a non-practising solicitor, works in Business Banking for HSBC. In addition to her general legal knowledge, she brings to the charity experience of risk management.  Amanda is the daughter of a retired police officer and her sister is a serving police officer, so she has an affinity with both the armed forces and the emergency services.

Wayne Palmer - Associate Trustee

Wayne Palmer is currently employed as a Senior Lecturer in Business, Computing and Management at Bucks New University. He runs a military programme for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. Before becoming a Lecturer, Wayne was an Officer in the Royal Air Force, he still serves as a Reservist on 7644 (Public Relations) Squadron. Wayne is one of the original founder members of the charity.
