BAE Broad Oak visit
Even before Hounds for Heroes had been formally registered, our founder Allen had built up a strong relationship with the BAE Broad Oak family through his involvement with other service-related charities. So when our own charity was born, BAE were one of the very first organisations to support Hounds for Heroes and Allen’s vision. Over the last nine years, various fundraising events such as Magna Carter day, re-opening of the tuck shop (Allen’s favourite) and regular cake sales (another of Allen’s favourites) have consistently raised much needed funds.
Hounds for Heroes dogs Monty and Merlin were named by the BAE Broad Oak staff and have been supported through the money raised by the tuck shop and other fundraising adventures over the years.
Hounds for Heroes Chairman Julian Forth, Allen, EJ and Rookie visited the Broad Oak site to personally thank the staff and fundraising committee for reaching an incredible milestone of £40,000.
To make the day that bit more special, Dawn Roper, a BAE employee who has been a staunch supporter of the charity since day one, made an incredible cake to celebrate this very special occasion.
