Meet Squadron Nine
We refer to each intake of puppies as a squadron and we usually recruit two squadrons a year. Our squadrons consist of at least four puppies of a similar age, but we have the capacity to increase to six if we want to. The breeds we currently have in training are Labradors, Golden Retrievers and first cross of these two breeds.
Hounds for Heroes training begins the day a puppy is collected from the breeder, usually when the puppy is eight weeks old and has been safely delivered to the home of a volunteer puppy parent. This is where the puppy will live until it is physically and emotionally ready to undertake advanced training and placement with a disabled client.
We are currently looking for volunteer puppy parents. If you live within a 25-mile radius of Petersfield and would like to know more, find out how to apply
