Our wonderful supporter Becci took part in the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge in June. Although the challenge didn't go quite to plan due to an injury we are so grateful for her support, here's what she had to say:
'During a training walk, I picked up an injury to my knee. We started the Ultra Challenge strong and we’d found a good pace and rhythm. Unfortunately, around 15km, the first steep downhill triggered the injury. The pain was manageable, I just had to slow my pace but recuperated on the flats and uphills but as time went on the pain got worse. I was determined to make it to 53km and reassess. However, by the time I got there I was barely able to weight bear - but it was definitely worse knowing I couldn’t continue!
Despite the pain, I loved every second, especially knowing I’d raised hopefully a good sum of money for such an amazing charity.'
A massive thank you to Becci for her amazing efforts and perseverance on the day, we hope your knee is on the mend and you've had a well earned rest post event to recover!
