Ludlow Junior School’s annual fundraiser to celebrate their therapy dog Hamish’s birthday was a howling success this year—especially since Hamish turned the big 1-0! Hamish, the beloved school therapy dog, had a special birthday bash on November 30th, and thanks to some fantastic fundraisers, it was a day to remember.
A group of 5 lucky pupils, dubbed the 'News Hounds', were chosen by their teachers to take charge of this pawsome event. As part of their role, they interviewed Donna a puppy parent of the charity, researched the cause, and even wrote a report to share with the whole school.
The fundraiser featured a non-uniform day with a twist—students could either come in their comfiest clothes or dress up like dogs! The News Hounds also created colourful posters, researched the charity, and made a fun video that was shown in assembly to help spread the word. The effort was truly a team effort, and the results were amazing!
Thanks to the hard work and generosity of the school’s pupils and teachers, the fundraiser raised an incredible £367 to support one of our puppies in training. A massive thank you to everyone involved, especially the fantastic News Hounds for leading the charge.
We also want to wish a very happy 10th birthday to Hamish, who’s now officially a “senior” in the dog world! Our dogs in training are sending a big, wagging 'woof' to say thank you for making a real difference.
Here’s to many more paw-sitive birthdays and fundraisers in the future!
